Answered up front

Whether you are new to chess or playing with a child.

I have never played chess. Can I learn here?

Animated lessons cover how each piece moves, all the way to castling and en passant. During a game the hint explains why that move, and a blunder alert catches the bad ones. Playing Piyak, the chick who just started, is a gentle place to begin.

Is it fine for a child?

No sign-up, no ads, no in-app purchases. The only connection the app opens is Game Center for online games — and it never opens it if you do not play online. Everything is kept on the device.

Do I have to pay?

It is free. No in-app purchases and no subscription.

Can I play on my own?

Six animal friends with different temperaments — Mir (owl, balanced), Leo (lion, attacking), Tori (turtle, defensive), Lupang (fox, positional), Chichi (squirrel, material-hungry), and Piyak (chick, beginner). Difficulty is easy, medium, or hard and is chosen separately from the character.

What does playing by voice mean?

Say “pawn from b3 to b5” and that move is played. The app asks for microphone and speech recognition permission the first time.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad, on iOS 26.5 or later.

Does it work on iPad?

Both iPhone and iPad. Either way it needs iOS 26.5 or later.
